Spent the day with good friends at a new Bounce place called Frogg's Bounce House. The kids had a blast!

Summer Fun: Container Gardening

This year I was determined to plant some veggies. We rent our house, so digging up the yard wasn't an option so I decided to "container garden." I bought some huge plastic buckets and drilled holes in the bottom of them, and scrounged up a couple of storage bins and did the same to them. Add potting mix, plant food and plant cuttings...wah lah! Here are my veggies in full bloom:

I've been trying to spend some good quality alone time with Emily this summer. On one of my friends blog, they went to this fun cupcake place at the Spectrum. So I decided to copycat, and Emily and I had a blast!

It's called SweetSpot.

Emily had braids in her hair all night a few weeks ago, and in the morning when we took them out, her hair was super wavy-fro. She HATED it!
She immediately wanted to take a shower to make it GO AWAY!

Summer Fun: Tea Party with Nonna

What little girl wouldn't be in heaven when Nonna (my mom) brings her a cute porcelain tea set, and has tea parties with her? Complete with tiny snacks on tiny plates...

Last summer it was a broken leg, this summer it was stitches...

She fell out of the hammock (back in May) right before our Palm Springs trip... Can you say "waterproof band aids?" Which, BTW don't work very well.

Fun at the Spectrum

Went to the Irvine Spectrum on Monday with a couple of friends and their kids. The kids played in the water park-thing, while the moms got to sit in the shade and chat. Combined with a little Rubio's for lunch, it was a perfect summer day!

No More Crib!

The dreaded day finally came (all my friends were jealous that this lasted so long) that Emily figured out how to climb out of her crib. So we took off the front and it turned into a toddler bed. As a special treat, I bought Emily some Princess sheets... She loves them!

Easter Sunday 09

This Easter was a little bit strange...I had a medical treatment being done, so I didn't make it to church. I was able to help get Emily ready in her Easter dress, thank goodness. (Wouldn't want to leave that up to Brian. As amazing as he is with her, his hairstyling skills are extremely limited!)

Later, that afternoon we went to a friends house for an Easter Dinner, and other Easter festivities:

Daddy Daughter Date to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands

As one of the many outings that Brian takes Emily on, this time they went to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. It is an ecological reserve, where you can see birds and other wildlife.. It's just a short trip up PCH, about 10 minutes away.
