Finger Paint Fun

I decided a couple of days ago that I would try to be a better mom and trIy to do at least one fun creative activity a day with Emily. (Don't ask me how today went, though)
So yesterday, I busted out the finger paints that had been sitting in my cupboard for months, unopened. I spread out a big sheet of paper on her little picnic table on the patio, and we went to town. She really had a great time getting messy. I need to do it more often, and think of other fun creative activities.

(Tried to get a picture of her hand and she wouldn't keep still.)

Halloween

Halloween was a bit exhausting and crazy, but so much fun. We forgot to take a picture of Emily before we left the house, she had cute pink cheeks and a little black nose. By the time we got anywhere, the nose was rubbed off, and she was over her little hat. Oh well. Grungy Halloween pics are better than none, I guess.

So off we went to downtown Huntington Beach for the street fair that they have every year. It is horribly crowded, so we tried to get there early this year. It was still super crowded even at 5. We took Emily to the bounce house, which she LOVED, and then to the giant slide. Brian went up with her and she didn't even wait for him at the top, she just took off down the slide, which is super tall. No fear at all, and she loved it so much. Went on one more, then off to go trick-or-treating.
( Crazy mommy with the fro)

We met up at a friends house in our tract, and went around the neighborhood. She caught on real fast to what was going on. She refused any real food and ate candy for dinner. She ate so much I really thought she would throw up. I think she was really tired, she rode in the stroller for almost the whole time, (which is crazy because she never rides in the stroller) but faithfully would get out at each door and get her treat.
(So tired but kept truckin')
(Stopped at the Cotton Candy house. Mommy ate it)
(Trying the hat on one more time before bed)

Lots of fun, but I am glad it's over.

Pumpkin Fun

Thursday night we decided to carve our pumpkin and watch Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin. We set up on the kitchen table and drew the face on the pumpkin, and carved it out. Emily thought that was great, and wanted to draw her own face on the pumpkin, so we turned it around, and she drew her own face on the back. I think her face turned out better than the one we carved!
Then we tried watching the cartoon, and it was really quite boring. Much different than I remembered it being. Weird.

Emily's Little Friend

A couple of mornings ago, I went to take some trash out and found a little worm on the pavement. I thought Emily would get a kick out of it, so I called her outside. She loved the "little wormy." She even touched it. (Which I wouldn't do.)
