Cake!

So ever since her birthday, Emily wants cake just about every day.... Cake? Cake? Cake? Always the answer is no, since we don't usually keep cake around.

However, last night we had a church cooking class, and we learned how to use fondant to decorate cakes! It was so much fun, and quite easy. Though the ones we made were super little, I really think that I could make a decent looking real cake! So much to Emily's enjoyment, here is my little cake that I decorated...

(I promised her some after naptime today. No sugar before nap, or there is no nap!)

So this reminds me of an entire season of a show called, "Bake,Decorate,Celebrate" that I used to watch religiously after it was recorded so I could fast forward all the mumbo-jumbo to the juicy tidbits! I have yet to try all the fancy things I learned. You are now nearer to being the cake decorator that I aspire to be! I LOVE IT! CAKE DECORATOR EXTRORDINAR! Does Shannon still do cakes? Your wedding cake was lovely. It was the first time I ever saw fondant.

Yours turned out so cute! THis was a fun night! I'd love to do it again, with "grown-up" cakes. It helps to have some moral support and encouragement! ;)
